POPULAR urban grooves outfit Xtra Large has split just a few months after breaking their silence a few months ago with the official launch of their new single, Huya Undichukuchire.
The duo of Jimmy Mangezi and Norman Manwere roped in their compatriot Roki on the single.
Manwere announced on his Facebook Page that they have decided to work on solo projects as part of their rebranding mission to rediscover themselves.
“Hi guys, we have decided to take a break from Xtra Large to try and Rediscover ourselves and to rebrand as a group. During the break, Jimmie and I will be working on Solo Projects.
“We need your support the same way you have supported Xtra Large throughout the years. We will regroup in the near future and we hope to come back a better and stronger team,” he said.
The duo last dominated airplay in 2016 with their hit Murudo and their last album, The Truth, failed to make an impact after it was released last year.
They were mostly known for their early day’s songs Uri Roja and Wafa Wanaka. The duo performed Uri Roja with Judah E. Xtra Large have reportedly released more than 10 albums.
There was some misunderstanding on whether Judah E was part of Xtra Large. Judah E went on to release songs by himself, the most popular one being Kabhasikoro.
