Collen Timeo – the ultimate Tongai Moyo reincanate
Have you been missing Tongai Moyo’s music? Have you, like us, thought that Peter Moyo would fill Tongai’s shoes? Worry no more. Tongai Moyo’s vibe lives on in none other than Collen Timeo!
There is a new kid in town with a hot sungura vibe and his name is Collen Timeo, the frontman of Sungura Vibes.
When you listen to Timeo’s music you hardly believe it is his debut sungura album. Timeo has started with great music that turn his competitors green with envy.
His music, unlike the so called sungura on the market, is full of life, well composed and mature. Moreover, Timeo is not into sungura for the money; he has the talent; he can play the guitar, compose, sing and dance.
Not only is he into sungura – he is a force to reckon with on the gospel arena in the league of The Charambas, Blessing Shumba and Benny Hadassah.
Timeo has been on Color Vibes, Nash TV, with Ngaishingirire, 5th track off his Wairemera album. The well received album was mastered and mixed by Jabulani Ndlovu at Trutone Studios.
Jabulani has worked with veteran producer, Bothwell Nyamhondera.
“How did you come up with this great sound? The Celebrity Club quizzed the youthful artist.
“I took my time listening to great music from Leonard Dembo, Admire Kasenga, Tongai Moyo, Leonard Zhakata, System Tazvida and former Khiama Boys of Nicholas Zacharia and Alick Macheso. When it was time it just flowed,” said Timeo.
Timeo’s Wairemera album has six songs Weather, Mandivavarira, Mutsauko, Dzorai Moyo, Ngatishingirire and Gonyera Pamwe.
His band is composed of Hide Mabharani (rhythm), Gideon Wonder (bass), Biggie Nyambishi (Lead), Surprise Ndlovu (sub rhythm), Collen Tom and Barnabas Ndapota (drums). Vocals and composition of all songs by Collen Timeo.
Macheso has some serious competition gunning for his crown. He better gear up.
