ELEGANT Model Ashley Zisengwe from Chitungwiza was crowned Miss Red Carpet on a beauty pageant held at Londoners Night Club on March 22.

Zisengwe was followed by Ruvimbo Gavi and Kimyola Banda as the first and second princesses respectively with Beatrice Mugandani scooping the Miss Personality title.

At least 14 models participated in the Miss Red Carpet beauty pageant’s various categories with the four scooping titles at the event.

It was glitz and glamour as people came in droves spotting the latest designs turning the event into a dazzling show.

While glitz and glamour characterized the night the situation was heated too. The venue turned into another place, where dazzling beauty swallowed the environment and everything looked majestic.

Event organizer Pindirai Mwakuruza popularly known as Lady Vicious said the purpose of the pageant was to link up people in the fashion, entertainment and professional business (companies, individuals, organizations, unions) together.

“This is a fashion showcase which also connects models in the business world. Models can be brand ambassadors, advertising and marketing agents, actresses who when connected to professional business people can change the business world into something big.

“I believe beauty makes the world go round. So instead of models being crowned and forgotten my shows will link them to companies who will work with them and employ them,” she said.

Asked how she managed to put up such a show this is what she said, “I love things and have loved things since I was born. My mother told me that when I was barely a day old I already started moving my neck side to side trying to check what is happening and where I was.”

Lady Vicious said she never wanted to say she cannot do anything and she always told myself that if someone can so can so it then she can do it too.

“What inspired me to do a Red Carpet Show was the BAA awards in Bulawayo. I noticed how people loved Red Carpet interviews  and Photoshop and found out that people in Zimbabwe  really loves things but they are starved of the things like these Red Carpet shows,” she said.
