Pamela “Pamzy” Dzvinamurungu started her professional musical journey in 2015 after winning the 1st runner up prize on the Starbrite Zim Talent Search Show in Harare.
As part of her prize Pamzy got a scholarship to attend musical lessons at Music crossroads academy for the whole of 2017 and she obtained a National certificate in music.
She has always enjoyed singing since she was in grade three and her school teachers encouraged her to join school choir and from there she was told to join senior choir because of her captivating voice.
Her family used to call her “Ma breeeee” referring to the late (Brenda Fassie) because she loved Brenda Fassie’s song titled “Vulindlela.”
Pamzy’s parents believed in her music and supported her always. They encouraged her to participate on the 2015 Starbrite Show that marked the beginning of her professional music career. She is currently working on her new singles that will be released as an EP end of August. She is also working with “House of Gruv studio” and “Rocklife studio.”
The (28) year old female musician has shared the stage with some of the big names in the industry including the late Dr Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mutukudzi, Habib ko’ite 2017 (HIFA main stage), Guspy Warrior and Prudence Katomeni Mbofana to mention the few.
Pamzy is also an actress and currently working on a short film titled Pfimbi (coming out soon).
Pamzy says she aims to own her own record label and to be an internationally recognised musician.
In an effort to empower the girl child Pamzy and her team are also gathering pads and underwears to give out to young girls who can’t afford to buy these essentials for the girl child.
Words of Wisdom to Women out there, “Let’s keep on working towards our goals and never give up, and let’s uplift each other as women, together we can conquer,” she said.
