ZIMBABWEAN based Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) rhumba musician Desolo B says he is wrongfully accused of rape by his former maid who varnished after making a police report.
In an interview with Celebrity, Desolo says his maid only identified as Evermore is unlawfully accusing him of rape, a matter which he has since denied of any wrong doing before the Harare Magistrates’ Court.
He was arrested on February 28 this year and he has attended court sessions more than three times at the Harare Magistrates’ Court but the accuser never showed up as she is reportedly nowhere to be found.
Desolo was remanded in custody for the offence for 3 months at the Harare Remand Prison until he was released on bail about a week and half ago.
Desolo is musician and businessman from DRC and has a residence permit to stay lawfully in Zimbabwe.
He resides in Cranborne and he is married to Yolanda Rangwani who works as sales representative at Kenyan Airways in Harare and the two are blessed with a baby boy.
He says that the maid fabricated the story in a bid to trick him to marry her as his second wife and when it failed she vanished.
On the day of his arrest, Desolo was scheduled to record a song with popular Zora music legend Leonard Zhakata.
He has worked with several artists in Zimbabwe including Andy Muridzo, Roki, Ba Shupi and he was also supposed to finish a recording with the late katekwe music legendary Dr Oliver Dairai “Tuku” Mtukudzi before he died.
Desolo is working on a new song on his experience which is also a dedication to wife, set to be released in due course.
He has also worked on several project with Military Touch Movement which is part of Jah Prayzah’s JP Studios.
