Teen Rescue Mission pre-audition a resounding success in Harare

HATS off to all teens and supportive adults who converged to showcase their diverse talents from as far as Karanda, Chiredzi, Kadoma, Chegutu, Mutare and Murewa.

Saturday, 9 March 2019 shall go down in history as one of the most memorable days for Teen Rescue Mission as poetry, dance, instrument playing, singing and testimonials stole the day.

The day was actually a great success with resourcefulness and shall be recorded as a first of its kind to bring talented teenagers together to showcase their diverse abilities in preparation for the establishment of the great choir ensemble to be supported by poetry and group dancers.

The Auditions were meant for Harare teens before extending to other towns and cities but the temptation for participation in this initial leg became too difficult to resist.

The occasion ended up elevating itself to a national level with the ecstatic teenagers from Chiredzi, Kadoma, Murehwa and Mutare hogging the limelight with flawless performances.

This was indeed a demonstration of teenage hunger and zeal for participation in Teen Rescue Mission programs as parents facilitated for the availability of their children.

The Teen Rescue Mission executive led by Mr Abraham Matuka, the Administrator Mr Rudolf Chikwizo, Programs head Pastor Lengron Gerah and Noreen Gumbo were amazed and felt indebted for such high level of commitment and sacrifice as demonstrated by everybody who came.

“We are doing this because we want to keep our youths occupied and having activities happening with them. This is a way of fulfilling our goals fighting against crime, drugs, early sex and putting good behavior in our teenagers and youths,” said Mr Matuka.

The event was scintillating and quite exciting as the energetic and creative youths battled out to outdo each other with their hearts out to secure places in the giant choir.

The next event to follow is a Boot Camp which is intended to train and empower the participants to become responsible team players and organizational members.

The Youth Boot Camp is expected to be held during the April holiday to accommodate others from boarding schools.

Teen Rescue Mission is an organization is motion and seeks to earnestly invite serious partners to join us to sustain and develop the noble efforts to empower and guide our children becoming better citizens.

The desire to spread auditions to other places is dependent upon the availability of funds to make the lifetime dreams of youths a reality.

“We are thankful to supportive parents, interested adults, and keen teenagers who believe in the Teen Rescue Mission vision,” Mr Matuka said.
