Despite suffering humiliation that comes with relegation, Teenage Hadebe has had a good season at Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish top flight.
The former Kaizer Chiefs hard man was ready to fight on arrival and he did manage to fit in the Yeni Malatyaspor defense. It was going to be tough for a player who was coming from Africa but Teenage showed his class and many thanks to the Afcon 2019 campaign that prepared him mentally.
The usually dependable lion-hearted Hadebe did not flop in Turkey and a move in the same league is possible if not already on the cards.
Numbers don’t lie:
- Appearances in Super League 23 and 1 assist
- Pass accuracy 80.5% and very strong in the air
- 6 yellow cards and 1 sent off
- Shots per game – 10%
The Turkish media has often praised the former Chicken Inn centre half as a man endowed with lots of energy and high concentration levels. He has an average rating of 6.8% in other words he sits well among “top” defenders in the Turkish top flight. His best performance came on the road at Sivasspor when he inspired his team to a 0-1 victory.
It will be interesting to see how things will work out in the coming weeks but one thing for sure Hadebe is staying in Europe. Hadebe is one of the key players Zimbabwe national team will bank on if we are to entertain any hopes of qualifying for Qatar 2022
